In October 2025 V.Wynd went to the amazing puppet museum in Jakarta and then tracked down a retired elderly puppeteer in Jakarta and got rather over excited and bought far more puppets than he has room to display in the museum (&his house). The Puppet Master explained that since covid he hasn’t really had any bookings and he has no young apprentices. A puppet show starts late in the evening and lasts till dawn, it needs at least twenty performers and musicians to animate a cast of over 200 puppets. These are antique puppets that were in use until fairly recently and therefore have their fair share of knocks and bangs and bruises. Mr.Wynd spent a happy day in his workshop making wooden stands for his, but has since worked out that empty bottles make much better stands!
