Join Raw Cheese Power for an evening of cheese tasting, talk & tales! An experienced cheese trader & occultist, our host – also known as the Dark Knight of Cholesterol – brings five courses of rare & exquisite British cheeses.

Fun & informal, the event is a chance to try, learn about and discuss cheese history, heritage & artistry within a cultural & geographical context, plus anything else, of course!

Tickets include a free glass of Devil’s Botany Chocolate Absinthe Liqueur to end the tasting.

Doors open at 18:30. Event Time: 19:00 – 21:00. Please arrive beforehand. Guests are welcome to stay for a drink after the event as the venue’s bar will remain open to the public throughout the evening.

Talking to the dead, animating objects, human flight: the phenomenon of magic and spell making goes back as far as records began and continues to garner a curious crowd who believe there is more to our experiences than meets the eye. Whether you want to put a hex on an enemy, contact the deceased, or conjure your desires, this talk will explore the other-worldly as well as out-of-this-world spirits.

Award-winning drinks writer and author Millie Milliken will guide you through five different spirits that bring the stories of the evening to life. From their history to how they’re made, how to drink them and more, this is a chance to learn about the magical world and flavour of spirits through unexpected tales.

Tickets: £25 (includes welcome cocktail, admission to the talk, and a tasting of 5 spirits)

To mark the launch of her new content, event and tastings company, Wet Ink, spirits and cocktail writer Millie Milliken has joined forces with home of Devil’s Botany, The Last Tuesday Society, for a series of talks that combine her love of drinks with their sometimes offbeat and unusual cultural histories.

There’ll be welcome drinks and themed cocktails from the team at The Last Tuesday Society, themed playlist links too and a chance to discover some of the spirits linked to the topics.

Millie Milliken is an award-winning spirits and cocktail writer whose work has been published in the likes of the Evening Standard, Club Oenologique and Wallpaper*. Through her new content, events and tasting company Wet Ink, Milliken wants to tell more stories about spirits and cocktails that don’t normally ever get told. From mermaids, to cowgirls, tarot to witchcraft, she takes a different angle to educating consumers about the magical world of drinks.
