The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was a magical order active in Great Britain during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which practiced theurgy and spiritual development. It has been one of the largest single influences on 20th-century Western occultism. Unlike the mainstream Masonic Lodges, women were admitted on an equal basis with men and they became crucial to its success, their lives were radically different to the presumed lives of their contemporaries and we owe them all, in their individual ways a great debt.
Geraldine Beskin
Geraldine Beskin has a lifelong interest in Western Esotericism. She and her daughter Bali Beskin, run London's Atlantis Bookshop. The Golden Dawn is as old as their premises and many of its members were, and are customers.
